Netiquette
Our presence on social media and other digital platforms is to create user-friendly opportunities to discuss our news and the companies we support, as well as our services and products.
Netiquette is the set of rules of conduct and politeness that govern user behaviour on social media.
Off-topic comments may become future topics of discussion, but in the meantime they may be moved or deleted without notice if we feel they interfere with the ongoing discussion.
Anyone who fails to follow the rules of netiquette may see their comments moderated or deleted. In some cases, access privileges to our social platforms may be restricted or suspended.
As netiquette evolves according to needs and circumstances, the Corporation reserves the right to update its rules at any time without notice.
1. Rules of Conduct
We encourage everyone to freely express their ideas while remaining caring and respectful. Users are invited to write comments, share posts, and provide opinions that feed into a healthy and meaningful discussion.
We will not accept comments or photos that are irrelevant, illegal, inappropriate, obscene, offensive, threatening, defamatory, racist, abusive, discriminatory, or insulting. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, withdraw such comments and restrict access to its authors.
Conversations must remain respectful. They must not lead to quarrels or personal attacks and must not turn into private discussions between two participants without regard for others.
2. Identity
We do not tolerate users pretending to be someone they are not. We reserve the right to delete a comment if there is any doubt as to the identity of its author.
The comments on our social platforms are strictly those of their authors and do not reflect the Corporation’s position.
Anyone posting comments on our social networks must ensure that the content being shared is authentic and does not infringe any third party’s rights of ownership, confidentiality, or other rights.
3. Language
We undertake to answer questions on our social platforms in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the French Language RLRQ, c. C-11 .
On social media, comments written all in caps are considered to be yelling and suggest aggression. Messages containing one or more words all in caps (except acronyms) may therefore be rejected or deleted.
4. Content
The content we publish on our social media and other digital platforms for discussion is to report on ourselves, the companies we support, and our services and products.
Off-topic comments may become future topics of discussion, but in the meantime they may be moved or deleted without notice if Investissement Québec believes they interfere with the ongoing discussion.
We respond to questions and comments, as appropriate, within 24 hours, except on weekends and statutory holidays.
We cannot edit comments and questions, but can moderate them. When user comments or questions are posted, they are posted in their entirety. On some platforms, users may not be able to remove their posts once they are posted, which is why it is important for them to think carefully about what they are saying and the consequences thereof.
For confidentiality reasons, we do not comment on potential, imminent, or ongoing litigation.
We reserve the right to respectfully comment on or correct any inaccurate or misleading information posted on our social platforms.
Repeated messages hinder communication and are not tolerated. Posting the same comment is considered spam and is not permitted.
A hyperlink may be included in a comment as long as it leads to a site or article directly related to the topic of the conversation. We are not responsible for the content of these sites.
Advertisements or personal or business announcements and calls to action of any kind are prohibited and may be deleted without notice.
We do not get involved in partisan conversations, because that is not our mission.
5. Authenticity of Information
Users must ensure that the content they publish is authentic and does not infringe on a third party’s intellectual property or confidentiality rights.
Information posted only engages its authors. Investissement Québec cannot be held liable for its validity.

We encourage users to think carefully about what they are saying and to avoid using personal or confidential information.
