Raufoss Canada grows its Boisbriand facility

Raufoss Technology Canada announces an $18 million investment at its Boisbriand facility.

Boisbriand, May 2nd, 2024 – Raufoss Technology Canada announces an $18 million investment at its Boisbriand facility to meet growing demand coming from North American electric vehicle makers. The manufacturer of forged aluminum car suspension components is adding a new machining and assembly cell featuring a dozen robots. A series of optimizations is also planned for cells already in operation. 

This latest investment also comes with 35 new operator and electro-mechanic positions, enabling the company to accelerate its manufacturing process for the next generation of electric vehicles.

    Aluminum suspension arms are considerably lighter than steel parts. For that reason, they are sought after by electric vehicle manufacturers looking to reduce the weight of their cars to optimize battery capacity.

    Established in Boisbriand in 2002, Raufoss Canada has been collaborating with the Cégep Lionel-Groulx to develop talent skilled to meet the demands that stem from automation. This is the Austrian company’s fifth expansion project in its Boisbriand facility which supplies global automakers including GM, BMW, Stellantis, Mercedes and Ford.
